11:30am to 1:00pm
Kaiser Permanente Medical Center
1600 Eureka Road, Medical Office Building 2, 4th Floor, Room C46 D
Dear Friends,
I’d like to invite you to a very special lunch on Wednesday,
March 10.
The Lincoln, Rocklin and Roseville Chambers of Commerce are
inviting their boards and key members to learn about the
experiential style of education that Drexel offers its
undergraduates called “co-op” – up to three internships
(usually paid) in the student’s field of interest or major.
Peter Franks, the executive director of Drexel’s Co-op program,
will be coming from Philadelphia to speak with us. He will start
his presentation at 12:00 p.m., focus on your questions, and will
conclude by 1:00 p.m. Kaiser Permanente is graciously hosting
lunch which will be served at 11:30 a.m.
As you know, Drexel is considering opening an undergraduate
campus in Placer County. They are also considering starting a
degree completion program in the fall of 2011.
Drexel specializes in applied learning, which is often the best
way to master knowledge and apply it effectively to our work.
Undergraduate students at Drexel participate in a co-op
program with participating employers around the world, who
employ the students full time for six month periods. Drexel is
looking to inform our region’s leadership and then develop
employer partners to support the co-op model here on the
West coast.
This is an important information session that could have a very
positive impact on our local economy. We hope you’ll make
plans to attend.
Thank you in advance for your interest!
